Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My first joint of my right hand index finger feels like it is bruised and looks a little swollen. It has been like that for a few weeks. Today my wrist on the same hand hurt a bit to where I rubbed it and looked at it and saw it was a little swollen also. Am I developing arthritis?
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are having nonspecific pains in right index finger and wrist . I think your symptoms does not come in category of arthritis . Treatment of it is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen. Vitamin B and C help in relief. However you can get your test such as Rheumatoid factor test, ESR and C Reactive protein to further investigate it. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
