What Causes Swelling In Cheek After An Injury?

I fell with whole body weight off my bed, attempting something stupid, that said, I hit the left side of my face, specifically the cheekbone area. It swelled, bruised a little, a is sore; the bone seems to be protruding out farther than the other side, but to be honest; I just don't know. Should I get an x-ray to be sure? Cheekbones are pretty hard to fracture, right?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The swelling in the cheek is because of the trauma to the cheek bone and soft tissues or it can be because of the fractured maxillary bone. You need to consult a oral physician and get a OPG and paranasal sinus view radigraph done to rule out any fracture. If there is any fracture, then get it treated by a oral maxillofacial surgeon.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
