What Causes Swelling In Ankles And Feet?

Both legs, ankles and feet are swollen. First begun in one leg when I sit too long without moving ( on the computer),but in the last few days it appears selling in both legs, ankles and feet. No itching or pain, wonder is it result from my degenerative hip & back problems.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear;
It seems to be due to a problem arising out of varicose vein or due dependant pedal edema which may be idiopathic in many cases.
It may also occur in cases of high blood pressure and due to low haemoglobin.
Now I will recommend you to use atab. Frusemide 10 mg d for 5 days , it will reduce edema butvin my opinion u must go for as specialist consultation to rule out varicose vein or other reason.
Thanks
