What Causes Swelling Around Floating Ribs Left Of Midline Around The Stomach?

My daughter has a swollen area around the floating ribs just left of midline around the stomach/ transverse colon area before entering the curvature to the descending colon. It is tender to the touch. She has not had been injured in this area at all and has also been very tired at late, not sure if it could be related but I wanted to include it. It is not discolored, but it is noticeable to the naked eye when looking at her bare stomach. It looks like a small swollen area.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Swelling in the abdomen needs to be investigated.
An ultrasound of the abdomen is required to look for any organomegaly, or any other abnormality in the abdomen.
On the basis of ultrasound report, further investigations can be planned and then management can be planned.

Thanks and take care
