What Causes Swelling And Tenderness In Toe?

Hit my big toe nail hard against wall over a week ago. It looks a tad swollen and has minor pain when touched. There is also some liquid that has not stopped coming out from under nail since I hit It. I cut half of the nail off and it looks like some of the skin was separated from the nail. What can I do to make it better?

Hi I did review your concern, i would recommend you to go see a doctor and getting a proper closed dressing done to stop it from getting infected. The fluid can be transudate or pus. I would recommend you to keep it clean and dry and apply neomycin/soframycin ointment and cover it with clean gauze meanwhile. please wear clean footwear and do not go in dirty area to prevent it from getting infected. You can take Ibuprofen prn for pain and antiinflammation effect and omeprazole to prevent ibuprofen induced gastritis OD.
I hope this helps
