This is very common after knee replacement surgery. Normally a very few such surgeries are 100% successful....the patients who are really lucky.

TKR is indicated when pt really becomes immobile and handicapped. Even then if one takes treatment in Ayurveda for about 6 months, the patient becomes mobile at least and that too without pain and swelling. 80% of patients are lucky and to become mobile- though with not 100% normal. But that condition is much better than the one similar to your husband's current condition. Against its achieved without surgery, very economic and time tested. But patients and attendants get afraid of long durations. Hence fall prey to false promises to all who want TKR in a hope to live healthily for ever.

We hope and wish your husband back to normal.
