General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Cause is hypersensitivity to the vaccine giving rise to tissue reaction in form of swelling and inflammation of the arm. In concern with past history of bad reaction, I suggest to discuss the issue with treating doctor before taking next dose.

Current recommendations:
• Apply ice over the affected part 3 to 4 times a day
• Keep the affected arm elevated till possible with arm sling support
• Keep fingers, wrist moving even in arm sling for peripheral circulations
• Avoid weight lifting through that hand
• Keep your blood sugar, BP under control
• Need of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory molecules has to be decided by physical examination only

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
