What Causes Swelling And Bleeding In The Optic Nerves?

My mother is 72 having swollen optic nerves that are bleeding and have had several blood tests done nothing wrong and Ct scan was clear and is going in for an mri soon . Her eye pressure was 28 but now is normal after medication and is hoo g to be given steroid shots. Any ideas?

I really appreciate your concern, it is better to avoid the steroid as long as it is possible unless patient is qualified for this and it is highly indicated, some time it may not given or some time is indicated depends upon the underlying clinical condition hope this information helps.
