What Causes Swelling After Drug Intake?

Hello, I am a current drug addict, I know I need help, but I recently injected meth into my arm where it bends and after I felt a slight burn for a minute or two; Any idea what this could mean? Also, the injection point swelled up just a little, can you give me reasoning behind this? Thanks.

Hi,

This happened because some of the drug was released outside the blood vessel into the surrounding tissues. This caused the swelling and the burning sensation. Extravasation of the drug is very common in intravenous drug users as most of their veins are damaged by repeated injections. I hope you will do something about it.

Best wishes.
