General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Health care magic.I understand your concern,
Yes, you are right.. it's increased stress on the damaged discs in cervical spine.. causing your problem.
* cervical spinal discs being weak... the prolonged stress was borne by collar bone& it became sore & inflamed./ alternatively, it can be over stressed cervical rib.
* Take rest. use cold/ hot packs alternately/over the counter Ibuprofen like drug... in suitable dosage for your age & weight- would give relief in 4-7 days. No massage or rubbing pl.
Calcium & vitamin D supplement would improve bony health.
* if no relief in 5 days / or the swelling increases..see an orthopedic surgeon for Imaging investigation & treatment
Thanks
