What Causes Sweating While Sleeping In A 8 Month Old?
I have an 8-month old daughter. Recently (the last week or so) she has been waking up sweating and today she woke up from her nap sweating and her sweat smelled like fruit. She has been otherwise normal. She is breastfed and eats table food. She has a good appetite. She weighs a little over 12 pounds (the same my older daughter was at her age). She has about 6 wet diapers a day. Since I was diabetic with my first daughter I have a glucometer and I checked my baby's blood sugar and it was 93. She was just starting to nurse when I checked it and the last time she had eaten was about 4 hours prior. We have an appointment with the pediatrician in 2 weeks but I am wondering if I should bring her in sooner. Thanks, Kerrie.

Hi... fruity odour does point to ketoacidosis. Is the child having fast breathing or abdominal pain during that period? I think you should meet the doctor soon because the reading of the glucostix have variation and are not as accurate as the blood glucose estimation by chromatography.
