What Causes Swallowing Difficulty And Saliva Accumulation In The Mouth?

Hi.. I am having difficulty swallowing while eating. I could feel some weird sensations in my ear as well. I am down with fever at night and I am having a disturbed sleep because I tend to wake up every time me the salaiva accumulates in my mouth and I have a tendency to spilt it out. This has been happening for the best part of the past 4 days. Is it tonsilitis?. Is there any home made remedies available

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection leading to throat infection causing Pharyngitis and tonsillitis and the symptoms of fever, ear discomfort, swallowing difficulty and excess salivation seems to be due to it..
As it is a viral infection it will resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in human body..

As of now you can start with supportive treatment to relieve the symptoms like:
-Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution..

-Take a combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen..

-Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..

-Do steam inhalations..

-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

-Sip on warm water throughout the day..

Hopefully the symptoms will resolve within a week and if it worsen consult a General Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
