What Causes Sudden Sharp Pain In The Upper Thighs After Practicing Yoga?

I have a sudden sharp pain in my upper thigh/lower hip. It is painful to walk, especially up stairs. It feels like a flu shot but worse! I did not recently fall or anything. I did yoga this morning, but the pain came later on. Not sure if Should be worried.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern. You are most likely experiencing pain from a pulled muscle. Taking Ibuprofen and applying ice packs on the affected area will help decrease the inflammation and pain.
Avoid doing extreme stretching for a while until the pain subsides.
Wishing you all the best
