What Causes Sudden Numbness At The Back Of The Head Spreading Down The Body?
I have sudden numbness on the left rear area of my head, completely numb, it travels down the left side of my body slightly going to the right of my body, some left facial numbness. Nothing is painful except the headache. I have seen my doc and am on prednisone as I have no had an injury or jarring. I have only taken this med for 2 days but have seen no change. i am not dizzy but am uncomfortable at all times feeling numbness.
Hello. I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. The sensory loss-numbness- from the head, and face and involving one side of the body more than the other is very possibly suggestive of a thalamic stroke. So I would suggest a CT scan of the brain. However, you also have a headache. Similar symptoms may suggest a migraine in such a situation. In migraine however, you have on and off headache previously as well. Since you have not mentioned this in the query, I assume you do not have headaches regularly. And therefore, as such I would suggest the CT scan of the Brain. Let us know the report for medication advice. Best of luck,Dr Mittal
