What Causes Sudden Involuntary Spasms In Body?

My husband, age 52, has been experiencing sudden, completely involuntary spasms or twitches. They have been increasing in frequency to 25-30/day. He is otherwise healthy with no particular family history of serious disease. We are wondering what this could be and whether he should see a doctor. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Thank you for trusting HCM.
Its not clear to me if the spams are localized to part of his body or general all over the body, nevertheless please refer to a neurologist with the current symptoms, meanwhile try to drink enough water it help hydrating the muscles and might help with spams, avoid stimulants like coffee and tea, and try to relax. But its important to refer to a neurologist to make sure everything is good.
Best regards,
Dr. Ahmad
