What Causes Sudden Cough And Electric Shock In Body?

I was sitting at my desk at work when I started to cough. Then I got this severe electric shock feeling across the top part of my back and pain in my upper chest. It only lasted at 30 seconds but it was extremely scary. Do you know what this could have been? my e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe you had that severe pain, only once and when you had the cough only.
So it appears to be due to the cervical spondylosis or some infection in the chest as there is no chronic cough second possibility is excluded. So i advice you to consult an Orthopaedic surgeon we may need to have an MRI of cervical spine for diagnosis.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery
