Hi. Dryness of the nose can lead to bleeding or epistaxis.
The air conditioning at Starbucks along with poor hydration may have precipitated this. It is advised that you drink 1.5-2 litres of water every day and use saline nasal sprays 3-4 times a day to keep the nose wet in order to prevent nasal bleeding.
If blood is swallowed then it interacts with the acid in the stomach and creates an irritant called as acid hematin which causes nausea, vomiting and stomach discomfort. It is advised that next time spit the blood out, sit in an upright position with your nose pinched for 10 minutes.
If nasal bleeding happens frequently then visit your ENT specialist for an evaluation. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.
