What Causes Sudden Black Discoloration Above The Eye?
I have an eye that has turned black above the eye and seems to be draining down to the lower outside eyelid. I may have rubbed it after touching the cat. I can t recall any trauma incident. I did have a stomach scope the day before the eye started to show color. the scope was last thursday and the eye began to change on Friday. No pain or discomfort but not sure if I should be concerned?
Understanding your concern. Black discoloration above the eye as per your query could be because of hyperpigmentation , allergic reaction to certain chemical agents such as dyes and could be because of melanin deposition due to excessive exposure to UV rays of sun. The discoloration can also occur due to internal bleeding or bone fracture. Do not price or touch affected area again and again at all as that will cause bleeding , craks. I would suggest you to not to use hard cosmetics and appli ice pack on affected area. Apply natural oil or petroleum jelly to prevent from drying. Use tea tree oil dipped in cotton swab for fastening the healing and prevent discoloration. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight. If your condition keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
