Hi
Thanks for choosing HCM for your query.
I can under stand your problem.
Difficulty in breathing is due to aspiration of stomach contents into your airways (windpipe).
The features described in your case are highly suggestive of
gastric acid reflux disease referred to as
GERD.
Take a PPI drug (one hour before meal) once daily for a period of atleast 4 weeks along with
Domperidone once daily.
Beside you should have some lifestyle modifications like:
Avoid hot and spicy foods particularly at night
Do not consume alcohol and excess of coffee
Do not sleep immediately after having a dinner, be seated at least 2-3 hrs after having meals this will prevent the reflux.
The head end of your bed should be raised to 45 degree once again to prevent the regurgitation of stomach contents into your food pipe and some times into your airways which is why you are getting difficulty in breathing.
I hope this explanation will help you in getting relief from GERD.
Take care.
