What Causes Stunted Growth?

Hi I've been lifting weights since I was 14/15 and I am now 16 but haven't grown for a looong while while all my other friends have I'm 5'9, my dad is about 5'10 and my mum is 5'4 is it possible that I have stunted my growth? I've been worrying about this for so long and needed advice.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is not likely that your growth has been stunted by weight lifting.

Final height is mainly determined by genetics though environmental factors such as chronic illness, diet would play a small role.

It is possible, at your age, that you may grow some person. After adolescence because of changes in the long bone, no further growth is possible.

I hope this helps
