What Causes Strong Odor When You Are Pregnant?

Dear doctor I am 37 plus 5 days pregnant. my height is 156 cm. I am an Indian from UK. here, am not supposed to take the weight during the second and third trimester. it was 49kg at the beginning of my pregnancy. Now the problem is vaginal smell.I used to change undergarments twice a day. Sometimes the odor is strong and I feel embarrassed. Itching is there but not always. Everything else is fine except, am not immune to rubella and had chicken pox at 16 weeks of pregnancy.i had taken 800mg ace clover antibiotics at that stage. But, everything is fine after the scanning. i am supposed to take third scanning on 13th as they have a doubt about the position of baby. The baby is still not in the right position.

You may have a vaginal infection causing the odor and an examination from your obstetrician in the office may confirm this and treat you. The position of the baby as well as your previous chicken pox infection have no bearing on this. In the meantime, try to keep your vagina clean and dry, wear loose fitting clothing and cotton underwear and do not douche- this can upset the normal bacteria in the vagina and is not recommended in pregnancy. I hope this was helpful and good luck.
