What Causes Stoppage In Periods?

I m 22 years old, married, and have not been taking any steps to prevent pregnancy. My last period was on Sept. 19. I typically have a period every 4-5 weeks. I took a pregancy test on Oct. 30 and it was negative, but still no period. I don t have any signs of morning sickness, cravings, or the typical pregnancy indicators. The only chronic condition I have is ulcerative colitis. Could I have taken the test too early, therefore getting a false negative? I plan on taking another test on Nov. 7. If I still haven t started my period and I still get a negative pregnancy reading, should I make an appointment with a doctor?
