What Causes Stomach Pain With No Bowel Movement Even After Taking Laxative?
My wife has been constipated off an on for the last 8 days or so. She took a laxative yesterday and is having stomach pains but no relief in terms of bowel movement. The stomach pains continue. Could something dangerous be going on with the laxative?

Hi,
There was no stool since last 8 days but if associated with absent flatus ,vomiting , pain abdomen , ....signifies obstruction (absent bowel movement below obstruction ). And in such condition laxative is contraindication during this stage .
You should visit surgery clinic for the management of constipation.
