Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have noticed I have a lump above my belly button. It is hard and not visible I can only feel it. Iv had ongoing stomach pains and cramps for a while now. Iv been to the doctors a lot and was diagnosed with colostridium difficile last year. Should I be worried about this lump or just leave it and seek medical advice if it gets worse?
Lump if it is superficial, Just in the skin and not deep seated than it could be a Lipoma. If it sleeps under your finger and not fixed to the underlying abdominal wall, than you need not to worry.
if it's not so than you should see doctor as per your convenience for physical examination and to rule out other possibilities like hernia, desmoid tumor.
As far as stomach pain is concerned, I would advise you to take antiacidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for 3 to 5 days. you should avoid fatty fried and junk food as well as carbonated and caffeinated beverages. No smoking and alcohol consumption.
Hope I could answer your question, please do let me know if you have any more queries, I will gladly answer you. Wishing you good health.
