Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son fell off his bunk bed whilst playing and landed on his back. Since this happened he has been complaining about a pain in his stomach. He appears ok (playing, eating and his temperature are all ok). We are only concerned now because he said he fell over in school and his stomach starting hurting again and this was nearly a week since the original fall. Any ideas what this could be?
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. From the history of trauma for more than a week ago, the most likely cause would be a soft tissue trauma which would be relieved with anti inflammatory drugs. However, to be certain of not missing any intra abdominal organ injury, I would also advise you to get an ultrasound of whole abdomen done.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
