What Causes Stomach Discomforts?

Hi. For the past 4-5 months I have regularly been queasy and have a slight gnawing sensation in my stomach. I don't eat gluten wheat or dairy but I just can't seem to get on top of this. I gave had an endoscopy which has come up clear. Not sure what else to do.

Hi,

I understand your concern.

I am happy that endoscopy did not find anything serious. However, I'd ask to have the full endoscopy report to evaluate the findings myself.

Next, apart stomach, your symptoms are due to bowel problems: inflammation/infection.
If you are also having problems with defecation (constipation? diarrhea?), then, further tests are required including:
- pancreas function test
- food intolerance test
- examination of stool for ova/parasites
- abdominal ultrasound

Until you get the tests done, I advise to:
- have frequent meals with small portion
- avoid foods that would aggravate your symptoms
- take antacids after meal
- have your meals regularly
- increase fluids intake
- take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora

Hope this helps.
