What Causes Stomach Bloating With Pain And Back Pain?

Feel full and hurts to eat. My stomach hurts and hurts clear through to the mid back. Have not been feeling quite up to par. I am not taking any medication, except for vitamin pills. I am 78 and do have adhesive bowel disease but it is under control now. I have to take miralax every night per doctors orders. Just wondering if I should make appointment with my doctor.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Feeling boated or fullness in stomach could be related to dyspepsia, constipation or acute gastritis but it needs further evaluation by clinical examination and various tests to have confirmed diagnosis.

Your mid back pain is likely to be related to stomach pain and bloating itself. So,once we will take care of stomach pain and bloating,it will also be taken care.

If your symptoms are not so troublesome then you should start some medications and dietary precautions to get relieved from this bloating and pain.

1) Proton pump inhibitors (pantoprazole 40 or rabeprazole 20) twice daily before meal.

2) Syrup digene 2 TSF three times a day to have symptomatic relief from stomach issue.

3) Avoid hot, oily and spicy foods rather take bland diet for initial few days
4) Avoid eating full stomach one at a time rather take small and frequent meals.

5) Have soft diet only for next 2 to 3 days
6) Take salads (cucumber, cabbage, carrot, beat) in the meal, more take vegetables

All the above medications are available over the counter,so you can buy the from some nearby pharmacy.

Also, continue with Miralax (laxatives) as prescribed by your doctor. And if your adhesive bowel disease in under control then no need to worry about it.

I expect you will start improving within 2 to 3 days but if your problem persists even after, then it is better to see physician or gastro physician who can order various tests and can come to a particular diagnosis and start the treatment. So,book your physician's appointment on urgent basis.

Hope this will help you.

Regards,
