What Causes Stomach Ache, Vomiting And Low Grade Fever?

Two nights ago woke up with stomach ache, one hour later threw up violently and again at 5:30 am. Slept the whole next day and missed work the next day as well. Still have fever of 99.4 and my face feels hot. No energy, I can keep food down. Definitely better but the low grade fever making not feeling the best. Is this normal? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Health care magic,

Presence of low grade fever, vomiting and stomach or abdominal pain could be associated with acute gastritis or acute appendicitis or acute cholecystitis. Also these symptoms are not normal and require immediate medical attention.

So,all these must be ruled out first, but I will need more information from your symptoms of stomach pain like,

Since the pain was started? How was the pain and is it radiating to somewhere?
Do you have loss of appetite or burning urination?

After all this questions answered,a doctor will order some routine blood works,ESR,electrolytes, liver function tests, urine and abdominal ultrasound to detect the underlying cause.

Also,Diagnosis can be made by good clinical examination of by the doctor.

I would suggest you to consult your surgeon or visit ER as this symptoms are not normal and immediate medical attention is required for further assessment.

Meanwhile, you can take antispasmodics and anti-emetics with anti-pyretics and antacids for symptomatic relief but as i said you will require immediate medical intervention.

Regards,
I find this answer helpful
