hi this is a question about female genitals. I have serval stinging red lines from the bottom of my vagina hole stretchig about 1 & a half inch down. this has happened once before and went away and now it s back again. I have not had sex recently. this is very concerning & scary. please help
Your description suggests the possibility of herpes genitalis. This is a viral infection. The infection is self limiting. In fact there are no specific medicines against herpes; however some give trial of antiviral medicines. This virus being self limiting, the lesions subside for some period only to reappear again some times later.
This is a sexually transmitted infection. Hence sexual behaviour should be guarded and safe. Condom does not protect from transmission as the lesions can be outside the area that is covered by condom.
If the lesions are painful, you may use some pain killer. Take care not to have superadded bacterial infection. If bacterial infection sets in, you will have to take antibiotics.
Please report to your Gynaecologist.
