I am 66 and work full time as dog groomer. On my feet much of the day. I got a sharp stabbing pain in my left thigh that lasted maybe a minute, like a needle. It happened several time that week. Now I get a duller pain, and it sometimes feels to me like something is running down my thigh from the site of the pain.
This pain may be neuralgia which is nerve related pain.
Since the pain starts in thigh, it is possible that it is related to injury or issues with the lower back that is affecting the nerve that leaves the spinal cord to supply the thigh and leg.

What Causes Stabbing Pain In Thigh?
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic This pain may be neuralgia which is nerve related pain. Since the pain starts in thigh, it is possible that it is related to injury or issues with the lower back that is affecting the nerve that leaves the spinal cord to supply the thigh and leg. It may be sciatica which is pain along the area supplied by the sciatic nerve. You can consider seeing your doctor for an assessment which would include examination and imaging of the spine. I hope this helps
