What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Urethra Of A 5 Year Old?

my 5 year old daughter woke up in the night 2 nights ago with a stabbing pain in her urethra and needing to pee frequently. When taking a sample in the middle of the night I saw 2 little white wiggly things. I took her to docs who prescibed antibiotics and said it was a UTI, he ignored the white things! The next day she is fine and I take samples of her pee throughout the day which show NO white wiggly things. However she woke last night needing a pee but not in much pain and when I made her pee in a pot again I saw a ehite wiggly thing?? She not complaining during the day only at night and is not complaining of any itching!! Can you suggest what it could be?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
HI...by what you quote I feel that she is having worm infestation. While the kid sleeps the worms come out of the anus and travel forward lodging themselves in the urethral region. I feel that this is what you are seeing there. Without fever I do not feel that this is urinary tract infection. I suggest you de-worm her. If I were your pediatrician I suggest giving Tablet Albendazole 400mg once today and another after 10 days.
