I am 14 weeks pregnant and I started getting brown discharge on Monday this week. I am 30 years old and I am 5'5. I noticed the brown discharge on the tissue. I just had it maybe twice on Monday and today I had some more brown discharge on the toilet paper. I have had two miscarriages in the past. However, I have had two ultrasounds for this pregnancy and the baby has a healthy hearbeat and was kicking and doing flips three weeks ago. I plan on going to my next doctors appointment next Wednesday. Should I call this morning?
Hi, I am sorry to note the bleeding incidence in your pregnancy. In fact any bleeding during pregnancy is abnormal and indicates impending danger to the pregnancy.
Brown bleeding during pregnancy indicates that it is an old bleeding. It means the baby inside the womb is unlikely to be viable. Such condition is called as Missed abortion.
The previous scans are historical. Today's condition has to be assessed. Please get the ultrasonography done to find out the status of your baby. If it is a missed abortion, it needs to be terminated ASAP as there is a risk of bleeding disorders (DIC), kidney failure, etc. Therefore your bleeding and clotting profiles would be tested before the termination is undertaken.
Please do not waste time and report to your Obstetrician ASAP.
