What Causes Spotting And Abdominal Cramps During Pregnancy?

Hi I just found out I m 7 wks 6 days pregnant and I am having some cramps, and uncomfortableness (can t get comfortable sitting or laying) I have a dbl uterus and they labeled me high risk. I haven t been bleeding but today I had a light pink spot on my tp after using the restroom. I m really scared and don t want to miscarry. Is this normal?

Hello and thank you for the question.

First of all, bleeding / spotting in the first trimester is very common and in a small percentage of these miscarriage is a concern. You mentioned that you have a "double-uterus" and in any case of a uterine anomaly, the risk of miscarriage is slightly higher, but I would not necessarily make this assumption in the absence of significant bleeding and cramping. Finally, it is important to make sure that there is not a pregnancy in the tube, called an ectopic pregnancy. You need to call your OB Provider and tell them about your symptoms and make sure that you get in for an ultrasound soon to confirm that the pregnancy is okay and in the uterus (unless already done).

I hope that this helps and good luck!
