Woke up at 1am urgently needing to pee.. Had a burning sensation afterwards.. Woke up once an hour until about 5am having the same problem, only it was light pee and the burning started to decrease after each pee.. At around 4am I noticed light pink spotting on the toilet paper after the first wipe. It has occurred all day sense it is now 6pm the burning has almost completely disappeared. I am due for my period in 7 days and I had unprotected sex 8 and 13 days ago. A little concerned, I ve had uti is in the past and never had any spotting. I ve Googled possible implantation bleeding and took an ept 2days ago that turned out negative. Just want a little more possible explanation.. Thanks
Cystitis or Lower Urinary Infection would be the main diagnosis in your case. If you had intercourse recently it could mean trauma to the urethra without infection (we call this Honeymoon cystitis). I would recommend an Urine analysis and urine cultures. If positive you will need antibiotics from 3-10 days. When there is macroscopic blood in urine while suffering from cystitis the condition is termed Hemorrhagic Cystitis. There are other causes of blood in the urine but infection is the most frequent in reproductive age women
