What Causes Spots And White Patch On The Edge Of The Lips?
Hi I am a smoker and couple of days ago I have noticed small spots coming on edge of my lips. Also a small white patch appeared on corner of my lip. The tip of my tongue feels sore. The top palate of my mouth is brownish and whole mouth is yellowish and reddish in color. I can see all the veins AF the back of my mouth and also on the roof of my mouth. Is it some.kind of infection or something else. Kindly advise. Thank you in advance.
I can understand your concern for spots and white patch on the edge of the lips.
It is quite usual to get such kind of appearance in smokers due to deficiency state and due to chronic smoking too.
In such kind of cases I prefer to do a vitamin B12 assay and accordingly proceed for the treatment. Even if the test is normal it is always better to quit smoking as is most important cause of all these symptoms.
As there can be subclinical low level of vitamins, which might not be detected by blood assays.
It is better to start with green leafy vegetables and plenty of fruits daily to get your vitamin level regained to normal.
A vitamin supplement containing vitamin B Complex and other essential nutrient are always good to be taken daily for few weeks.
I suggest you to meet a dermatologist so that the proper treatment can be taken.
All the best.
