What Causes Sound In Ear While Walking With Slight Popping?

Hi. I have a knocking sound in my right ear everytime i walk. sometimes there's a slight popping while i'm lying on my side. Pressure from airplane flights take three to five days to resolve. What do you think" I have an appointment to see an ENT doctor in one week, but its been a source of stress and annoyance for me.
Thanks Gerry

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sound in ear while walking with slight popping. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to eustachian tube dysfunction , as sometimes infection from upper respiratory track goes to eustachian tube . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist . Doctor will take history and order throat swab test along with CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin along with decongestant , expectorant and anti inflammatory . For now apply dry warm compresses on external ear , do warm saline gargles and take steam several times a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
