What Causes Soreness In Throat Along With Lump Under Tonsil?

Hello, I have had a bit of throat soreness the past few weeks. Its on my left side, right below my left tonsil. It has been making swallowing somewhat difficult, and speaking difficult as well. There are no white splotches or enlargement of my tonsils to indicate strep (I m a carrier for strep and still have my tonsils). However, I noticed a nickle diameter sized fleshy lump under my left tonsil. It seems to be in the location of my soreness, and it is a bit inflamed and tender. Could you give me some possible ideas of what it may be?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, this could be allergic condition and may not be infection if infection need to be ruled out then routine blood test need to be done, due to the allergic condition inflammation is very likely, second this could be due to some acid reflux phenomenon, some time both the condition can be managed simultaneously, hope this information helps, take care.
