Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi..I am a 48 yr old female. About a week ago I had some soreness in my calf muscle, and I would do exercises to stretch it out and the soreness went away. Two days ago I was walking a heard and felt a loud pop in my calf and intense pain. I have been icing it, elevating it, wrapped it, and taking ibuprofen. I first thought I wrapped it too tight because my foot started to tingle. But my foot tingles whether it is wrapped or not. Is this common for a calf strain? Is there something else going on?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi, Thanks for your query. From description , it seems you might developed muscular or ligamentous strain over calf. Now after 1 weeks if pain is severe ,I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. You may get the MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance. Tingling is due to injury to superficial nerve fibres. It is common for these type of strain.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more concern. Warm Regards.
