What Causes Sore Throat, Runny Nose, Congestion And White Spots On Tonsils?

I got a severe sore throat on Sat night. It lightened up a little, then I got a runny nose, nasal congestion, white spots on my tonsils, a mild cough, head pressure, headache, blood shot eyes, and a stiff neck. It has been one week now and I am not better.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear

You have throat infection which is bacterial in nature (streptococcus). Majority of the times it follows viral infection in throat. Viral infection subsides in one week but it is not subsiding in your case, so it is bacterial in nature. Eye congestion, head ache , fever all are symptoms of this infection which has affected your upper respiratory tract. You need to take a course of three days of antibiotics, analgesic and decongestant. Its better you consult a general physician/ENT surgeon.

Thanks for question.
