hi i have had a sore throat for about 3 days and its getting pretty severe. i think i can see one white spot on my left tonsil. i also yelled a few days ago can i have laryngitis and tonsilitis? im 23 years old and constantly suffer from sore throats and swollen tonsils but usually they dont ever get white spots.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain sore throat along with white spots on tonsil can be due to bacterial throat infection commonly known as Strep throat.. The white spots seems to be Pu pockets and it is commonly seen in case of bacterial infection.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and advise you throat swab culture to confirm the cause.. He can advise you to take a course of antibiotics like Levofloxacon, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations.. Use a humidifier in your room to soothe your throat.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods and drink plenty of water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
