What Causes Sore Throat And Soreness In The Tongue?

my husband had white sores in his mouth, he is a dipper (Copenhagen) for 20 years. Also his tongue has sores. His throat is also sore...can t eat anything but Popsicles as of now...eyes have been red and oozing green stuff, also every cough he has thick mucus he spits out. Any ideas?

Hi dear ,

As per your query your husband has sore throat and white sores on tongue . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as viral pharyngitis . Viruses are the most common cause for pharyngitis but sometimes also caused by pharyngitis . Sometimes allergic reaction can also become adon factor . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order test like blood test , vital culture test and throat swab test . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs like acyclovir along with anti inflammatory drug . For now do warm saline gargles and avoid hot and spicy food .
