What Causes Sore Throat And Pain In Chest After Smoking?

Hey,
So I've been smoking for the past year and a half, but recently I have noticed that I wake up with a sore throat. The area of pain is roughly at the back of my throat where it meets the back of my tongue. The pain has been there for a couple days to a week now.
Every so often I have a slight tinge of pain in my chest, generally closer toward my right.
I know the obvious thing would be to stop smoking, and I'm trying (very difficult) to stop my addiction.
But would it be necessary to get a check up? Would you have any Ideas about how to help?

Hello,

Smoking irritates the throat so it becomes dry and inflamed and this is the reason why you suffer from sore throat. The only way to stop this symptom is stop smoking.

Chest pain may be caused by insufficient blood flow to the heart or a heart attack.

But the worst is that smoking causes wide range of cancers which include many areas of the body.

If you have unexplained or sudden chest pain or difficulty with breathing you should go to the nearest hospital's emergency department because it may indicate heart attack.
You should also go to your doctor to talk about low-dose CT lung cancer screening.

Stopping smoking is not easy but is necessary for health.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
