What Causes Sore Throat And Headache Along With Fever?

My daughter has been feeling under the weather for 2 weeks now. Her symptoms started with a sore throat and a headache followed by a fever. The fever seemed to be inconsistent as it only showed up every few days or so. The highest it reached was 100.4. Her sore throat abated but her headache has been consistent. Now she complains of being achy, congested and she also has a cough. She hasn t had a fever in over 5 days but again she is still coughing, achy, and has a headache. On a side note, she has a bump in her lip about the size of a pea. It doesn t hurt but it does bother her. I m not sure if the bump is connected to her illness but I wanted to notate it. Do you suspect the bump is connected to her feeling poorly and do you recommend I visit her pediatrician?

I have gone through the details give and appreciate your concern. My suggestion is - better to visit her pediatrician, because various symptoms described do need a clear assessment. Plus there may be a need for an antibiotic treatment to take care of sore throat and cough along with a cough syrup. The "bump" also needs to be examined. In the meantime kepp her well hydrated by giving ORS (Oral Rehydration solution) daily. Thanks.
