What Causes Sore Throat Along With Cough And Runny Nose?
I ve had a sore throat for a week now. It developed on a day when I spent a lot of time in and air conditioned office. A cough also developed along with a slight runny nose and a little green mucus in the morning. What I find most interesting is that the cough and sore throat gets worse indoors and especially in an air conditioned room. If feels like a dry spot in my throat and that s what s irritated. Outdoors is much better.

Sore throat,runny nose with green mucous,cough indicates secondary bacterial infection on viral infection caused by exposure to cold environment.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Antibiotics like augmentin/erythromycin thrice a day for 5days.(prescription drug)
- Anti histaminics like oral cetrizine once for 3 days.Cough expectorant 2 tsps twice a day
-Nasal irrigation with saline water.
Salt with warm water gargles thrice a day.
-Avoid exposure to cold environment if possible.Increase intake of fruits and vegetables ,breathing exercises and adequate hydrate.This will increase your overall immunity.
If symptoms donot resolve ,consultation with physician recommended.
