What Causes Sore Throat Along With Acid Reflux?

Have severe sore throats since Thursday week and a half ago been to dr 3x thought acids reflux and given medication, next day at family dr as it did not seem like I had that, strep throat next on penicillin for 2 days went back not getting better no strep but ulcers in throat by ear were pain is swelling under chin from ear to ear and ear infection. Been on amoxicillin since Thursday lunch and pain in throat will not decrease at all. Tylenol Advil every 4 hrs, gargle and throat lozenges but nothing. Unable to sleep lay down and had to get up now as the pain is unbearable and swelling on left face down neck to base of neck now. They said glands not swollen. Go to hospital?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
sounds like you have got a bacterial infection not responding to amoxicillin and infection has been spreading.
it is good to see a doctor inthe hospital who could secure your airways to avoid any uncomfortable breathing from swelling and complications and start an intravenous antibiotics to control the spread of infection further if it is needed.
