My husband has had a sore stomach daily for the past 2 months, he is in constant pain. We have gone to specialist after specialist and every test comes back normal. He has taken an endoscopy test, blood work after blood work, colonoscopy, a test when he eats a small portion of scrambled egg and they took pictures of how the food go threw him for an hour, he has taken galbladder test, checked for ulcers, He has lost 15 lbs and still losing, he taken a test when they give him a pill that contains 24 pills and he had to go back every day for a week to see how the pills go through him, he is 6'1 and weight 158 lbs, we are scared. Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your husband and understood your concerns.
Pain in abdomen for 2 months is a long time to suffer and since you have already consulted so many specialists and have gone through all the necessary investigations like Endoscopy, colonoscopy, blood work, I hope there are a few more important tests to be done. Please get these done if not yet done and are as follows:
Tests of stool for three days and if possible and available go for fecolysis.
CT scan of abdomen and study of the blood vessels of intestines.
Colonoscopy.
Any special blood tests as per clinical evaluation of second opinion.
If a specific cause is found, a specific treatment will help a lot.
If all the tests are normal then the most probable diagnosis is IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome.
Control of stress and anxiety and an opinion of a Psychiatrist may help if all the tests are normal.
I find this answer helpful
