What Causes Sore Rib?

My rib is sore to the touch i cant think of any reason i got it xrayed and the dr said no fractures or broken ribs and said to follow up if the pain doesnt go away i t hasnt went away and that was like two weeks ago i have been trying to get another appointment but they are booked

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. From the information provided it seems you are suffering from costochondritis which is an inflammation of the rib cartilage.

It is an annoying problem as it takes long time to go. You may apply warm compressions to soothe the pain and may even try analgesics like advil (Ibuprofen) or tylenol for a few days provided you dont have any allergies with them. Take medications for a few days on and off to relieve the pain. Also avoid any activity or contact sports and any other thing that may exaggerate the pain.
