What Causes Sodium Levels To Decrease After Taking Prozac?

My Doctor called and had done blood work on Thursday. On Friday afternoon he called and said my Sodium level was too low and he wants me back in his office to some more blood work on Monday. I do not understand it has never been low before but I have been taking Prozac for about 3 months. Could that be causing it? And what if I can t get there Monday because of work is this a very dangerous situation? Please advise. Thank You! Diane

Hello

Thanks for the query

Prozac is contraindicated in patients with low sodium, however it is not very clear if Prozac by itself causes low sodium
Low sodium is an emergency depending on how much the sodium is. Please follow your doctors advice and approach him as soon as possible
