What Causes Small White Spots On The Fingers Of The Hand?

I have small white spots on my fingers, slowly spreading across my hands. When i first noticed these spots there were only a cluster on my finger, but now they have spread all down my fingers and going across my hands. They are white with a little black dot in the middle, could anybody tell me what these are and how to treat them? Thankyou

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
These sound like an infection called molluscum contagiosum. You can look at some images of this on the internet and see if this is what your lesions look like. If so it is a viral infection and usually goes away on its own. If it is troubling you a doctor could freeze or burn them to get rid of them
