What Causes Small Red Blisters In The Mouth?

This morning I had a round like blood blister form in my mouth all of the sudden. I ran my finger nail a crossed it and it moved and got longer while I could feel it move under the skin. It is raised up and touching my teeth. It is almost an inch long now and if i were to run my nail along it again it will get longer.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a blood blister like lump inside the mouth seems to be due to Mucocele formation that is due to trauma to the minor salivary glands leading to formation of a painless lump..

It can also be due to Hematoma formation that occurs due to ruptured blood vessels secondary to trauma.

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of Mucocele concentrated salt water rinses can help in diagnosis..
If does not improve surgical excision is advisable..

In case of hematoma it is commonly self resolving and will gradually resolve..
